Katlehong Taxi Violence Claims Three Taxi Owners Lives

 

 

On Friday, at approximately 20:00  a shootout which is suspected to be related to taxi violence occurred in Katlehong next to Osizweni (EWC) College.

A group of seven taxi drivers were sitting at car wash when they were attack by a group of unknown suspects who were travelling in a Quantum. They fired several shots at taxi owners who were sitting at the car wash and flee.

About 31 cartridges were found on the scene. Four of the victims are in hospital while the other three have been confirmed death. The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage and the police are pleading with anyone who might have any information to come forward.

A case docket of murder has been opened and will be investigated by Provincial team that is dealing with taxi violence related cases.
